SH2-97 (Sharpless 97 ) This object offers a bit for everyone from a small wide field telescope to a large narrow field view. In either case this nebula does appear brighter than it is. That said, the faster wide field of view can easily pick up sh2-97 as well as the surrounding nebula around it. The larger telescope can pick up the fine structure that can be seen in the larger view of my image. The nebula does best with the hydrogen-alpha filter. Even after an hour I did not pick up much using standard RGB color filters, so building an HA-RGB image composite helps when blending the H-Alpha with the red and blue filter.
