SH2-60 (Sharpless 60 )

This nebula has a lot of structure in it and is a great object for almost any size telescope. Larger telescopes can reveal the fine structure in the brighter area seen in the middle of the image. In contrast, the wide field of view offers a wide range of contrast between the brightest part of the nebula and the dark nebula such as Barnard 103 seen on the left side. SH2-59 is also just south of this object and can be captured as well with a very wide field of view. As bright as this object is the OIII filter did not do well. The hydrogen-alpha is the best filter to use with this object and if you take enough RGB then a great HA-RGB image can easily be created.
