SH2-289
(Sharpless 289
)
This somewhat small Sharpless object has some interesting structure in it that a larger telescope may pick up. The nebula loves the hydrogen alpha filter and does ok with the standard red color filter, but green and blue are nonexistent. An unusually feature seen in the nebula could be what is called the Champagne Flow. They appear a spikes jetting out at the bottom of the nebula. They may be a radial velocity outflow related to the Champagne model where outflows are kind of like popping the cork on the bottle and the HII from a center area, but not really 100 percent sure on that.
