SH2-254
(Sharpless 254
)
SH2-254 is the largest of a group of Sharpless objects in a small area in the sky. Below SH2-254 is SH2-257, and SH2-255. The two smaller ones are SH2-256 and SH2-258. Not much here for a wider field of view but the larger telescope can define the structure very well. The nebula complex picks up best with the hydrogen-alpha filter. However if you do not have narrowband filters, you can capture a great RGB color image. The complex also picks up very well with the sulfur II but is weakest with the oxygen III. However, with a long enough exposure you can capture a nice color narrowband image. In this image Sh2-254 is the top nebula.
