SH2-24 (Sharpless 24 )

This Sharpless object is what is known as a molecular cloud and does not really respond to any of the narrowband filters although if you expose long enough, you might start picking up some H-Alpha. This image was taken with standard LRGB filters for 5 hours. You really don’t need the clear filter as a luminance and may be better off with just a longer RGB image. This is not a large object at all considering the field of view here is 65 by 45 minutes of arc. One source has this object at a distance stretching between 50 and 240 pc, making it one of the closest known molecular clouds.
