SH2-150 (Sharpless 150 )

SH2-150 sits next to a very large nebula known as SH2-145 but is the brighter of the two. The nebula responds fairly well with the hydrogen-alpha filter but is rather faint, so you will need quite a bit of exposure time to capture a good clean image. You will also pick up quite a bit of nebula next to SH2-150 but will need a good wide of field to capture both objects. Shooting a lot of RGB color is a good idea because there are a few nice reflection nebulae in the area that would be hidden using just the H-Alpha filter. The reflection nebula you see in this image comes out very nicely over time. Using just a clear filter for the luminance is not going to work very well, so if you don’t have an H-Alpha filter, use the red as a luminance to help pick up the vast nebula in the area.
