SH2-142 (Sharpless 142 )

This object is a fairly common image seen perhaps because it is fairly bright. Even without narrowband filters this object does very well with the standard color filters. You will pick up more contrast using a hydrogen-alpha filter as it does very well in picking up the fine structure. If you plan to create a hydrogen alpha color image you will need to expose long exposures for the RGB filters. But when you do creating a HA-RGB color image is fairly easy to do. The nebula also does very well with the narrowband filters to create a Sulfur II, H-Alpha, and oxygen III. Larger telescopes will show extended detail and structure.
