SH2-109 (Sharpless 109 )

This object is really a collection of Sharpless objects in the northern half of Cygnus that is so large that you will need something in the order of a 50mm lens to capture all of it. The entire area responds very well to the hydrogen-alpha filter, and I have seen some nice LRGB images taken of this area. Narrowband filters OIII and SII may not work well here because it would only be effective with the very brightest area of the region. If you capture the entire area, you will capture famous objects such as The North American Nebula, The Veil Nebula, and The Gamma Cygni region. One object that I am displaying here is called the Propeller Nebula, which is also known as DWB 111, and which is in the northwestern part of the constellation. The Main Image button shows all of SH2-109.
